The song, Get Down On It, by Kool and the Gang, is a classic favorite of mine {That's the title, right?}. Lately, this song title has become my motto, to help me get myself finished with projects. I like it, so it's mine. Anytime I find myself "wasting" time, I think I will just hum a little tune...and get to work!
With 3 baby showers coming up in the next week, some singing has been necessary. Here is finish #1:
The 4 center blocks were blocks that I had made in a class. The stitching and pattern-following was tedious, and I couldn't imagine enjoying making a full-size quilt. So I put it away, along with the hundreds of 5.5" blocks that I cut out to continue making this quilt. My guess is that the next several baby girls to be born in my circle of love will be getting quilts made from these fabrics since so much of it is cut!
Since all the cutting was complete, the blocks went together quickly. In the end, I had one set of blocks that should not have been put together, but I like things perfectly imperfect. My quilts are made with love, prayers, and positive energy, so imperfections are just a part of the process for me. My high-tech machine was skipping stitches, which did cause me to say a few choice words, but for the most part, all good thoughts go into the quilts I make!
Good job! This is adorable and speedy.
ReplyDeleteI love that red and white combination! :)
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams for the newbie. Great job.
ReplyDeletePerfectly imperfect. I love that. Your quilt is beautiful. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I would never have guessed that they were repurposed from another project.
