More Baby Quilts

Two more finishes...talk about "getting down on it!"

The first quilt shown was inspired by a quilt I saw on the blog A Quilt Is Nice.  It's a Stacked Books quilt, perfect for our school librarian's new baby.  She is not finding out the sex of the baby, so I had fun adding all kinds of fabrics.  I was able to use an old print of the Dick and Jane fabric for the back.  This was my favorite quilt to make because I did not use a pattern, and I was able to play with my scraps.  While sewing, if something didn't work, I just chopped it off and tried something else.  Really, really fun!!

The pink quilt is my attempt at a more traditional quilt.  I stitched together 80 of those quarter-square triangle units while at open sew at SewDown Nashville.  Talk about needing to sing my song to get down on it!

So...SewDown Nashville was pretty amazing.  There is this whole lovely, creative world out there that I rarely get to experience in such a manner, and I liked it.  More on that another time!
