Worth
When I was gathering my Blessing Basket items, I noticed the price tag that was still on one of my mom's small heart-shaped hand-painted dishes...$3.00. While I am not a painter, my guess is that the $3.00 covered the price of the plate and maybe some of the paint...maybe.
Her time, expertise developed over many years of painting and taking classes to learn new skills, paint, electricity to run the kiln, the original purchase of the kiln, the postage spent to order the supplies, price of the plate, other supplies that I don't even know of that are involved with painting...are you reading me? I really doubt $3.00 was the true worth of this plate.
Knowing my mom; and myself, I imagine her reasoning is that the plate was small and "easy" to do {no WAY could I do what she does, so "easy" is relative}, therefore $3.00 was okay. But it has me thinking about worth, how it is determined, and by whom.
Below are links to some thought-provoking links related specifically to quilters and the worth of our work.

Enough thinking...I've got some fun sewing to do! The Stacked Books baby quilt is really, really fun to make. I hope to finish it by the weekend!

Oh my goodness. Three dollars? Sold! First of all the artistry is incredible, and thank you for believing that it is worth more than that! I'm so glad you enjoyed my article as well! Much love!
