Abandoned projects weigh a bit heavy on my mind. They become like the exercise plan that I should maintain or the organizing project that I should complete.
Should.
So, I started a Christmas quilt about 1 1/2 years ago, and abandoned it. It's not a really practical way to spend my time, considering that a king-size quilt takes a lot of time and resources and only gets to be used once a year.
Despite the impracticalities, it still seemed like a good idea. And then I abandoned it; much like my strength training plan and my closet organization.
About 4:00 this morning, I awoke thinking about my Christmas quilt and decided to give it another try. Why not?
That little basket of red and green fabric squares became some improv blocks, which then turned into some really big star blocks. This was not my original plan, but I love it already and am having fun sewing.
Why not, instead of should, is a much better way for me to think.
Now if I can just apply this frame of mind to exercise and organization...
I love the stars! Glad you went on a new path.
