It's really happening...again! Back in 2007, K and I traveled to NYC, DROVE through NYC and up to Connecticut, and spent the day in Denyse Schmidt's beautiful workshop taking her improv class. The experience resonated with me long after the class was finished.
#1-the fact that I stepped away from all responsibilities to do something that I needed to do...for my creative spirit
#2-my whole understanding of quilt design and composition shifted
#3-rediscovering that sewing is so much FUN!!!
#4-Flea Market Fancy was available for purchase, but I was not paying any attention to it...little did I know at that time that fabric goes out of print and out of availability
#5...my "left brain" had been taking over up until this point...you know, the side of the brain that is organized and structured and keeps life in order as the Mom and Teacher in me kept everything moving along...but my "right brain" was whispering to have a say. Thankfully, I listened and continue to do so.
Next week, Denyse Schmidt is coming to Kansas City, and I get to take a class with her!!! I am smiling as I write this!
