Crafty Canvas Bags, Part 1
Ruffle: Cut 1 of each:
7" x Width of Fabric (WOF)
5" x WOF
3" x WOF
1. Zigzag the raw edges. 2. Layer the strips. 3. Sew a gathering stitch right down the middle of the layers. 4. Make adjustments to the ruffle so that it will fit on the front of the bag. 5. Interface! 6. Sew a regular stitch close to the edge on both sides of the top layer of the ruffle. 7. Fold the top raw edge under and secure it to the top of the canvas bag (the little clips work great). 8. Using a top-stitching needle (found at JoAnns), sew the ruffle along the top edge of the bag. 9. Fold under the bottom edge of the ruffle, and stitch (but not to the bag...it's too difficult to manuever the bottom of the bag and the sewing machine). 10. Hot glue the ruffle to the bag.
Embellish with flowers! Have fun!
{Spot clean. Lay flat to dry.}
